Message from Orr Shalom's Linda Bracha

Providing warm loving homes for 1,300 children who have been severely abused and neglected by their biological parents, Orr Shalom is on the front line in the battle to save the lives of vulnerable children in Israel.

Since becoming involved in 2003, I have witnessed first-hand Orr Shalom's total commitment to each child in its care. I have seen tiny babies being carried into our emergency foster homes with just the clothes on their backs, growing up to be happy, secure children. I have seen abused children arrive at our door desperate and alone, leaving at the age of 18 with a healthy attitude, and the tools to transition into an independent adult life.  I have seen mentally and physically handicapped children who have been abandoned by their biological families find a wonderful home with Orr Shalom parents. I have seen hundreds of Orr Shalom foster parents open their homes and give unconditional love to children who are not their own.

At Orr Shalom we put children first. We passionately believe that it is every child's right to enjoy a secure and loving childhood and our Board, volunteers and professionals work tirelessly to make this happen.  The Development and Community Outreach Department is an integral part of this work, raising much-needed money and goods-in-kind to provide Orr Shalom children with what most kids are fortunate enough to take for granted.
