Pastor John Hagee gives major donation to Orr Shalom

Pastor John Hagee presents American Friends of Orr Shalom President Barbara Salmanson with the donation from John Hagee Ministries.

John Hagee Ministries has chosen to support Orr Shalom children at risk for the first time. Their support will be focused on providing Extra Care for Israel's Needy Immigrant Children from Ethiopia and FSU in Out-of-Home Frameworks.

Besides coming from extremely violent and/or neglectful domestic situations, Orr Shalom immigrant children have additional difficulties that exacerbate their already complex and painful situations:  parents unable to adequately function in Israeli society; unemployed parents leading to poverty; many single parent families; poor Hebrew; disorientation from being in a new society; identity issues; cultural gaps; poor academic levels leading to sub-standard grade levels etc.

Orr Shalom's Extra Care for Israel's Needy Immigrant Children from Ethiopia and FSU in Out-of-Home Frameworks Program will have a major impact on this under-privileged population giving them the opportunity to close the gaps with their normative peers, heal from their traumas, receive basic needs that are currently unanswered and go on to flourish as part of Israeli society. It will also provide the immigrant parents of these children with much-needed support and assistance.
