1,300 children who were removed from their homes due to severe abuse and/or neglect, find warm, loving and supportive homes with Orr Shalom.
While we need to put roofs over their heads, care for Orr Shalom children extends far beyond their urgent physical needs. We firmly believe that Orr Shalom children deserve the right investment so that they can prepare for happier and more stable futures.
Our children are cared for in the following homes and frameworks:
• 550 foster homes caring for 750 children including 200 special needs children
• 8 emergency foster homes caring for up to five children aged 0-5 years at any one time on an emergency basis until permanent foster homes are found
• 40 foster therapy homes caring for 70 children with a psychiatric profile
• 17 therapeutic family group homes caring for up to 11 children each
• 7 homes exclusively for adolescent girls who have suffered traumatic abuse
• 2 intensive-care closed facilities, Beit Goldschmidt and Reut for severely traumatized girls and boys respectively who require intensive treatment
• 1 transition home for Orr Shalom 18+ graduates
