"I didn't know what love was until I lived with an Orr Shalom Foster Family."
In 2004, Orr Shalom won the government tender to run foster programs in the center of Israel (Gush Dan region). Today we have 560 foster families caring for 850 children, including around 200 with physical and mental disabilities and 110 who suffer from psychiatric problems. These wonderful families work voluntarily, with the support of Orr Shalom's professional team, to give a warm and supportive home to babies, children and youth who have suffered from abuse and neglect in the homes of their biological families. Despite their traumatic pasts, we try wherever possible to maintain a relationship between the children and their parents.
