Orr Shalom child has challenges, dreams and desires. Very often, we are
presented with yet another one of our children who are in desperate need of
something. Something small like learning to play the piano, swimming lessons or
taking a computer class. Your donation can help make the difference between
success and failure, between a child's feeling of progress or of retreat. The
feeling that some of their dreams can come true. Our Orr Shalom children need

Orr Shalom is an Israeli not-for-profit association
with tax deductible status that establishes and operates family group homes for
abused and neglected Israeli children. The organization is governed by a Board
of Directors. Haim Feingold, the Executive Director, is a psychologist with
many years of clinical experience and extensive familiarity with the child
welfare network in Israel and abroad.
Orr Shalom's staff of 318 full and part-time employees, along with 85
volunteers, are dedicated to providing high quality care for children. The
combination of a high staff-child ratio and intensive in-service training
programs helps staff members to maximize their ability to help each child
recover from the traumas of their past and look toward a more successful
future.
Orr Shalom is supported jointly by the Ministry of Social Affairs, the Ministry
of Education and the local municipalities where our homes are located.
Additional support comes in the way of contributions from foundations,
businesses and individuals. Approximately 90% of the annual budget is provided
by the Ministries and the municipalities. With a view towards maintaining the
high standards of care to which Orr Shalom is committed, administrative and
office costs are kept as low as possible, with 90% of the budget allocated
directly to the children's homes.
